THE STORY

An old English Inn on the smuggler’s coast of Cornwall, the Vatican and a 3000 year-old mystery woven into an intriguing piece of modern fiction . . .

Following the translation of two Dead Sea Scrolls kept hidden from the world by the Vatican, Connor Tremayne, a highly unconventional Jesuit priest and Mary O'Brien, a Carmelite novice with a hidden past, are dispatched to England to investigate the possible whereabouts of a 3000 year-old artefact.

Working undercover within the close-knit community of a remote Cornish fishing village, their personal differences and Connor's relationship with the eligible niece of the local innkeeper, threaten to expose their operation and put both their lives at risk.

The nature of the ancient relic that lies beneath the towering cliffs turns out to be stunning in its implications and their discoveries lead to consequences that could never have been imagined.

THE GREATEST BIBLICAL MYSTERY OF THEM ALL ...

"Legacy Of The Sphinx" is a work of fiction, but the background to the story is an idea frequently speculated on: that locked away somewhere beneath the Giza Plateau, waiting for us to find, may be the gift of our creators, a key to hidden and forgotten knowledge. Was part of this knowledge discovered by Moses, and handed down by him through successive generations of Guardians, to be known only to a few privileged persons?

We do not know who built the Pyramids or the Sphinx, or exactly when; but all the credible modern evidence suggests that they pre-date the Ancient Egyptians. We do not know for certain, the origin of the person who became known as “Moses”. Recent scholarly research into Egyptian lineage however, indicates quite clearly that he was either of Egyptian Royal descent; or that the Royal House of Amenhotep III of the 18th Dynasty of Egypt adopted him. What is not in doubt is that he was a very unusual personage who was privy either by birth or by adoption, to the most arcane and esoteric knowledge that would if it existed at all, have been preserved in secret and handed down through the royal and priestly bloodlines of those who ruled Egypt at the time.

The journey that he made when he led his chosen people into the wilderness of the Sinai Peninsula and Negev desert was the greatest journey ever undertaken by man - except perhaps for the journey to the moon.

A studied look at a map of the region, and the knowledge that he transported as many as 60,000 men, women and children through those awful killing grounds and sustained them for years, defies the imagination.

Historically, the general fact of the Exodus is well documented and authenticated. What then, could Moses have had going for him to persuade him that this implausible undertaking was feasible at all? Because without support or assistance of any kind, the journey could never have been attempted; and even today, with the assistance of modern technology, would be logistically impossible. One possible explanation, not so unthinkable in the light of recent scientific discoveries, is that he possessed the knowledge of the ancients – knowledge that has since been lost, or secretly preserved.

Modern Israel is the legacy of Moses-Akhenaten, and Jews all over the world today spring from a fusion of those Israelites who made that epic journey; the Hebrews of Judea, descendants of Abraham; and the barbarians who conquered them at different times during the course of their violent and turbulent history.

The Knights Templar long ago splintered, evolved and changed over time. It is a remarkable oversight that they are relatively unrecorded in mainstream history textbooks, because at the height of their influence, they were almost as powerful and influential as the Holy Roman Empire.
